For those who are looking to complete their Dive Leader theory lessons, I have posted the following dates to the club calendar:

DT1 – Dec 2
DT8 – Dec 9
DT9 – Jan 6
DT10 – Jan 13
DT11 – Jan 20
DT12 – Jan 27

(Note: DT2-7 are best done as Skill development courses: O2 Admin and Practical Rescue Management)

Nitrox workshops and Crossover lessons

There are two Nitrox workshops and theory lessons scheduled for new members that need cross-over training and have their existing non-BSAC qualification recognised.

22nd July – Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop

For Ocean Diver and Sports Diver cross-overs without a Nitrox qualification

5th July – OT1 & OT4

For all cross-overs. It introduces you to BSAC and our tables.

5th August – Sports Diver Nitrox Workshop

For Sports Diver cross-overs without a Nitrox qualification (must have done the Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop)

Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop – Date change

To accommodate holidays, the Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop has been moved to the 22nd July.

Upcoming theory lessons for cross-overs

If you are “crossing over” and want your non-BSAC training qualification recognised and continue to train with BSAC the following lessons are for you:

OT1 & OT4 – required for all cross-overs

Introduction to our club, BSAC and the wonderful BSAC ‘88 dive tables

Ocean Diver Nitrox Workshop

If you have no Nitrox qualification then this is for you.

(Non nitrox qualified members looking to cross-over to Sports Diver should also attend this, and then attend a subsequent Sports Diver Nitrox Workshop)

Cross-over theory lesson

Just a note to mention that this weeks Ocean Diver theory lesson (May 27th) is appropriate for new members who are looking to “cross-over” thier existing non-BSAC qualifications to the equivalent BSAC grade.

Lessons normally start at about 9:15pm

This Thursday sees the last of the current Sports Diver lectures: ST5 – Your instructor will be Rachel Sharp (in the classroom)

For Ocean Diver students, your instructor for OT6 is Sarah Hamlyn.

If you need either of these lectures, please be ready from around 9pm to attend.

You heard it here first – I have the BSAC South East Region programme for Skill Development Courses (SDCs) and Instructor Development Events (IDEs) – there are several scheduled to be run at our clubhouse (I have added them to the calendar), so very convenient for our members.
