Our members are the life-blood of the branch — last year we had 147 members, both diving and social.

Diving members have a varied range of qualifications and interests, so whatever type of diving you are into, it can be pursued in our club!
Our membership year runs for 12 months from April each year. Your subscription covers annual BSAC membership in addition membership of Kingston and Elmbridge sub-aqua club.
For those joining part way through a membership year, naturally subscription fees are prorata.

Award winners
We are previous winners of the British Sub-Aqua Club’s most prestigious award – “The Heinke Trophy” – recognition that we do more in the interest of our members than any other club. Take a look at the following benefits and you will see what we mean…
Benefits of Membership
An established club
Kingston and Elmbridge SAC is one of the original branches of the British Sub-Aqua Club, having been formed in 1955. Our current membership allows us to organise a wide range of diving both in the UK and abroad, as well maintain our own clubhouse (with bar!), boats, compressor and a full diver training programme – from beginners to advanced divers.
Training
Training provided by the club is free!

Pool training is organised on club night (Thursday) at New Malden leisure centre, approximately 10 minutes drive from the clubhouse.
Theory lectures are also usually run on Thursdays at the clubhouse, and we organise regular sheltered and open water training days.
Theory and practical training is provided free: you only have to pay for your entry to the pool or dive site.
To compliment SCUBA training, we also run popular freediving courses.
Equipment
Don’t worry if you don’t have your own dive equipment; we’re happy to lend it to you for the duration of your training.
This will give you time to build your experience and decide what kit is best for you; and, of course, you’ll get lots of advice from other club members!
Club boats
The club has two RIBs, and these are available for use by any club member with theappropriate qualification and experience. Hire of the RIBs is charged at a nominal rate.

Oxygen

The club has two twelve-litre oxygen kits that can be used by any dive marshall when taken on club trips. Both kits have a constant-flow and demand valve fittings.
Nitrox group

Providing you have a gas-blending qualification, you are welcome to join the nitrox group and fill your cylinder with up to 80% O2 at cost.
Additionally, there are plans afoot to offer nitrox fills to all club members with an appropriate nitrox qualification.
On-site compressor facilities

It just gets better and better: we offer all club members FREE air tank fills on club nights.
We offer clean air to all club members (nitrox blenders have the facility to fill their own tanks).
A full diving programme

Last year, thousands of dives were undertaken in the UK and abroad by the membership. This is a club that goes diving!
Not only that, there are a range of interests within the club, from Trimix technical diving right down to novice training dives.
We arrange a variety of diving activities from day trips to the south coast, toholidays in more exotic locations! There’s always a diving activity to suit all abilities, budgets and interests.

Clubhouse and facilities

We have our own clubhouse with full facilities, which is open on Thursday evenings from around 8pm until about 11.30pm, and we have our own well stocked, licensed bar!
The clubhouse is also available for functions during the year.
A fantastic social scene
It’s not all about the diving: the club has a very active social side with parties, barbeques, an annual dinner-dance, bands, meals out, day trips, bowling, paint-balling etc – we believe that Kingston and Elmbridge is one of the friendliest dive clubs around.
Family and friends are always welcome at social events.
