She was a favourite ship of King Henry VIII, named after his sister. She sank accidentally in the solent during an engagement with the French Fleet in 1545. Members of the original salvage team of the Mary Rose, 25 years ago, Chris Dobbs and Charles Barker whom look after the Maritime Archaelogy of the Mary Rose will be coming to Kingston and Elmbridge Clubhouse on Thursday 17th January at 8 pm to give a rare lecture to us fellow divers on the raising of Henry VIII’s warship and the continued archaelogical finds being discovered at the site.

In appreciation of their visit we will conduct a raffle on the evening to raise funds for the Mary Rose Trust, to assist with their continued conservation of this historic ship.

Friends of members of the dive club are most welcome to attend.
