Members’ finds for 2009

You couldn’t have had a more varied selection of entries for the club’s “Best Find” and “Best Presented Find”; Four treasures from the Jurassic, the 1940’s and the present day…

Alan Dunster’s beautifully restored ships bell won “Best Find” by a large majority.

Sarah Hamlyn’s modest Sea Urchin shell sneaked ahead on the voting for “Best Presented Find” against Sandra Donovan’s German dinner plate (complete with swastika, eagle and ‘1941’ marking) and a stunning Ammonite fossil presented by Shirley Deluce.

When taken together with the member voting for the club’s photographic competition that also went on last night (an not forgetting the prized Crawley Cup, for for the biggest lobster or crab), it just goes to illustrate what a varied range of interests we have as a diving club – I am already looking for next year’s competitions.
